Abigail Smith Adams was born in November 11, 1774 in Weymouth, Massachusetts. Abigail is distinguished as the first American woman and patriot to be honored as the wife of the first Vice-President and second President of The United States, John Adams, and mother of the sixth President of The United States, John Quincy Adams. She is well-known for her unwavering support of her husband, as revealed in their correspondence of over 1,600 letters now kept in historical archives.

Lynne Drysdale Patterson is a member of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) Fort Nashborough Chapter. She was presented the 2013 NSDAR American Heritage Music Composition Award for “Be Like Abigail (Ode to Abigail Smith Adams),” in a ceremony during The 122nd Continental Congress in Washington, D.C.
